Besan laddoo (Gram flour balls)
One of my favourites and we prepare it with a lot of relish during the festivities in India. During the Ganesh festivities, we offer it to the deity to appease him along with Bombay Rava fried with sugar dumplings and Modak. One can prepare it religiously in the kadhai and the other option is the Microwave.
Ingredients for Besan Laddoo ( Kadhai) :-
2 cup Besan (Gram flour roasted till they’re brown)
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup ghee
1/4 teaspoon cardamom (elaichi pwd)
1 tsp dried nuts (almond/pistachio/raisins/cashewnut chopped) – optional
Method of Preparation :-
- In a kadhai, mix gram flour and ghee over low heat.
- After a while, mix the cardamom powder and keep stirring.
- Keep constantly stirring to avoid lumps.
- When it releases a good aroma, it is ready.
- Remove from the heat and allow it to cool.
- Add powdered sugar and nuts to the gram flour and mix thoroughly.
- Now form roly-poly balls of the mixture.
- Besan Laddoo are ready to be served.
