Apple crisp pudding

A novel topping provides a crisp complement to apples.

Cooking Time : 25 min.
Preparation Time : 15 min.

Serves 8.

Ingredients
6 medium-sized cooking apple
100 grams brown sugar
55 grams whole wheat flour
55 grams quick-cooking rolled oats
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder
3 tablespoons soft butter
Method
1. Peel and slice the apples. Mix half the sugar.
2. Grease a 200 mm. into 200 mm. square dish and spread the apples in the dish.
3. Mix the remaining ingredients and spread on top of the apples.
4. Bake in a hot oven at 200 degree C (400 degree F) until the top is golden. Serve warm.

Apples and oats are low in fat but high in fibre.
Brown sugar has molasses added which return some of the nutrients removed during processing.
