Methi ghavan

A Maharashtrian version of the dosa.

Cooking Time : 10 min.
Preparation Time : 10 min.

Makes 4 ghavans.

1 cup rice flour
2 green chillies, chopped
1/2 teaspoon ginger, grated
1/4 cup fenugreek leaves (methi), chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)
1 teaspoon oil
salt to taste
oil for cooking
1. Mix the rice flour in a bowl with enough water to get a pouring consistency batter.
2. Mix the rest of the ingredients in the batter and keep aside.
3. Heat a non-stick tava and grease it with oil.
4. Pour 2 ladle fulls of the mixture on the tava and spread it evenly. Put a little oil on the sides.
5. Turn the ghavan upside down and cook till crisp and brown from both sides.
6. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
7. Serve hot.
