Bulgur wheat pancakes

Bulgur wheat proves to be a good breakfast food, as it provides an adequate amount of energy (calories) and protein. Since your body requires calcium, the addition of curds improves the calcium content of the recipe.
These pancakes are ideal for your second trimester as they are rich in fibre and will ease your digestive problems too.

Cooking Time : 15 mins.
Preparation Time : 20 mins.

Makes 10 pancakes.

Ingredients
11/2 cups fine bulgur wheat (dalia)
2 tablespoons whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1/2 cup fresh curds (yoghurt)
1 cup finely chopped cabbage
2 green chillies, chopped
2 teaspoons oil
1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
approx. 3 tablespoons oil for cooking
Method
1. Soak the bulgur wheat in hot water for 10 to 15 minutes. Drain completely.
2. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well. Add a little water (approx. ¼ cup) to make a thick batter.
3. Prepare small pancakes on a non-stick frying pan using a little oil, to cook both sides, till they are golden brown.
4. Serve hot with green chutney.
