Thickly grated radish is perked up by the addition of an unusual combination of ingredients like garlic, mustard seeds and lemon juice. This makes a tongue tickling dish that is low in calories and carbohydrates and so is a perfect accompaniment to a main course like khichdi or parathas.

Preparation Time : 5 mins.
Cooking Time : Nil.

Serves 2.

1 cup radish (mooli), thickly grated
1 clove garlic, grated
juice of ½ lemon
½ green chilli, finely chopped
¼ teaspoon split mustard seeds (rai na kuria)
1 teaspoon chopped coriander
salt to taste
1. Combine all the ingredients and allow them to marinate for at least an hour.
2. Cover and refrigerate.
3. Serve chilled.
Radish emits a strong odour.
Remember to cover the bowl tightly and or plastic wrap so that the other foods in the refrigerator do not smell like radish too.
