Mangalorean tea

A caffeine free tea made with only natural herbs to soothe your throat and help expel mucus. It is also called kasai or kadha.

Preparation Time : 5 mins.
Cooking Time : 5 mins.

Makes 1 cup.

Ingredients
1½ tablespoons of spice powder (recipe below)
1½ teaspoons misri (khadi sakhar)
2 tablespoons milk
For the spice powder
¼ cup coriander (dhania) seeds
1½ tablespoons cumin seeds (jeera)
1½ tablespoons fennel seeds (saunf)
¼ teaspoon fenugreek (methi) seeds
For the spice powder
1. Dry roast all the ingredients on a tava (griddle) and grind to a coarse powder.
2. Cool and store in an air-tight container. Use as required.
How to proceed
1. Boil 1 cup of water and add the spice powder and misri to it.
2. Simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes and then add the milk.
3. Bring to a boil, strain and serve.
4. Sip while it is hot for best results.
