Lettuce drink

Lettuce is not just a salad food! Combined with lemon, this delightful juice is just the thing to revive you from that sinking feeling!
Try this unusual combination of fruits and vegetables for some real health power with a vitamin C and calcium boost in a glass. There are many types of lettuce available. Dark green varieties lend a slightly bitter taste to juices, so use only the lighter green variety of lettuce. It is easier to juice firm rather than softer leaves.

Makes 2 small glasses (300 ml).

Ingredients
1 medium sized apple (unpeeled), cored and cut into pieces
1 medium sized orange, peeled and separated into segments
2 to 3 lettuce leaves (preferably iceberg), roughly chopped
1 tsp lemon juice
½ tsp black salt (sanchal) (optional)
crushed ice to serve
HOPPER / JUICER
1. Juice all the ingredients.
2. Add the lemon juice and black salt and mix well.
3. Add some crushed ice in 2 glasses and pour the juice over it. Serve immediately.
MIXER / BLENDER
1. Blend all the ingredients using little water (if required) till smooth.
2. Strain the juice using a strainer or a muslin cloth.
3. Add the lemon juice and black salt and mix well.
4. Add some crushed ice in 2 glasses and pour the juice over it. Serve immediately.
