Penne with spinach in low fat cheese sauce

Penne tossed together with spinach and the low fat cheese sauce is sure to delight your palate. The cheese in this recipe has been replaced by low fat cottage cheese and so this main course with just 99 calories offers a guilt free meal for the healthy heart.

Cooking Time : 10 mins.
Preparation Time : 10 mins.

Serves 2.

1 cup penne, boiled
1 cup spinach (palak), blanched and chopped
¼ cup onions, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic, chopped
1 recipe low fat cheese sauce
a pinch nutmeg (jaiphal) powder
1 teaspoon oil or olive oil
salt to taste
1. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan, add the onions and garlic and cook till the onions are translucent.
2. Add the spinach and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
3. Add the penne, low fat cheese sauce, nutmeg powder and salt and allow it to come to a boil. Add some water if required, to adjust the consistency. Serve immediately.
